Wales v Sweden - Wednesday 3 March Tuesday 09 Feb 2010The Liberty Stadium has been chosen to host Wales' Nationwide International Friendly against Sweden in the spring. Erik Hamrén's side, who are not going to this summer's World Cup, will line-up against the Dragons on Wednesday, March 3 (7.45pm), in what will be the fourth senior international at the Liberty Stadium since it opened in 2005. Previous matches against Slovenia, Bulgaria and Georgia have all taken place while Brian Flynn's successful Under-21 side defeated Italy during the early part of this season. It will be the first time that both nations have faced each other in almost 16 years when Sweden were 2-0 victors in a friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground. Wales boss John Toshack named two Swansea City players in the last Wales squad which comfortably beat Scotland in November - Joe Allen and Ashley Williams, who captained the side in the 3-0 success, while young goalkeeper David Cornell was called-up but not used on the day. The Blågult (Blue-Yellow) missed out on reaching the World Cup qualifying play-offs by one point, finishing third in Group One behind Portugal and neighbours Denmark. Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £5 for concessions. "Mates Rates"= 5 tickets for just £60. Booking fees apply.
Tickets are on sale now from the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office or via our hotline, 08700 400 004.
