The heavy rain made removing the remaining grass and sand very difficult, but that stage has now been completed. What has been left behind is just the plastic fibres along with a very thin layer of surface debris. Having been brushed to bring the fibres upright, we now start the process of spreading fine sand onto the surface.

 

This sand forms the basis of our 'soil'. It allows for very good drainage, is easy to maintain and has been proven over the last few days, can be removed in the future without damaging the plastic fibres when renovations are needed.

 

The images here show the sand being spread onto the pitch, ready for seeding in the next few days. The seed will be fed and watered appropriately, as we watch the pitch growing over the next 2 to 3 weeks before its first cut.
